Psalm 133 Unity: Forged in the Fires of Forgiveness [Video]

I think it was about a year ago that I came across a stunning article that shifted my perspective on Psalm 133[1]. Since then, I have had a growing appreciation for Psalm 133, due to the stories that lie behind it and the portrait of unity that it displays.

Psalm 133:1-3 is three verses, with two pictures, and one point. The two pictures that describe unity are  oil and dew. When the stories in the backdrop are brought into focus, we see that these are perfect portraits of unity in image-rich simplicity.

Here are some highlights:

• Prophetic Application: Jesus, the greater prophet like Moses, our greater brother, descended from a much higher mountain, poured forth His strength for the weak that a new kingdom of priests would come forth. The unity which Jesus prayed for in John 17:11, 21–22 is forged in the fire of forgiveness.
